I can't get my car to fire up on the first try below 60deg. It'll fire for about a second and dies. Usually takes three times. I've increased the after start enrichment quite a bit. Doesn't seem to make a difference. I've also moved the IAC parked from 40-80. Motor is a SBC 408 13.1 [email protected] cam.

Anyone want to share their E85 cold start tune?

Thanks

Have you touched cranking fuel at that temp. What's the fuel enrichment at that temp. I've started e85 at 19 degrees outside no problem. Its not the fuel

Also, have you tried increasing the "Fuel Prime Percent"? Is it enabled?

usually you can throw a bunch of spark at e85 cold......but we dont have that ability in the holley software to get it to fire off

you could kind of cheat and make a cell in your main spark table for cranking, and just set the crank to run rpm at a really low value so its always using the regular timing table, and then use the CTS spark table to modify it and add a bunch of spark for cold starts...
downside is that you will have to wait to really drive because it will add a bunch of spark everywhere as well until it warms up

or you can keep a squirt bottle of regular gasoline around and dump a little regular gas in to fire it off when its cold.

we really need a cranking spark vs CTS table instead of just one value for all cranking.

gray86hatch would these numbers you posted be a good start for a setup with 225lb injectors and Weldon 2345 pump. I had a pretty good tune up with c-16 but i'm making a switch to c-85. Thanks for your help

Since as long as your setup for your size injectors I don't think it would matter because it's lb/hr... But I could be wrong.

Maybe its got something to do with your fuel table on the bottom. Do you have a copy of your fuel table? Mine's almost identical to gray 86 and no issues here. 408 SBF here

My car has already been tuned and running great on my c16 setup. Should I just add 30% to the fuel tables needed to get me close.

An Advanced 1D table to use a cranking fuel multiplier vs fuel pressure helps a bunch. Basically, it holds the injectors open until around 25psi then runs off the cranking enrichment table. Fires methanol at 32F without too much drama.

my issue is with e85, I have fuel pressure while cranking. Car fired right up before I removed the trans and it was 70ish degrees, hot and cold. Now that it’s 30-50 degrees it needs brake clean cold but will fire up after it’s been running a minute.
