NMRA Seeks Editor for Race Pages Magazine
ProMedia Publishing consists of three strong automotive racing-niche publications, Race Pages Magazine, Fastest Street Car Magazine, and OverRev Magazine, as well as a sister division, ProMedia Events, which produces 15 automotive racing events per year under the NMRA Ford Series and NMCA Street Legal series names.
ProMedia Publishing seeks a qualified Editor for Race Pages Magazine. This is an in-house editorial position based in ProMedia's Southern California office. You must be located in Southern California, or be willing to relocate. Race Pages Editor is responsible for producing Race Pages Magazine each month, the leading Ford drag racing oriented magazine in the country. He/she ensures the editorial integrity and quality of the magazine and has oversight over the content and appearance of the magazine.
The key factor in evaluating candidates for this position will be their knowledge and experience in the Ford & Street Legal Racing Industry and Performance Automotive/Technical Matters.
In addition, strong writing, editing, and management skills are essential as Editor will play lead role in reviewing, editing, and rewriting all copy. He/she also has the ultimate responsibility for the quality of the magazine. As Editor, you will often be responsible for writing up to 15 pages of editorial content per month for the publication, including supporting photography. You must be available to attend between 8 and 9 national ProMedia events from an editorial and event staff capacity.
Editor will lead the production of the magazine, including editing, assisting with art direction/layout, and proofing of all editorial/layout copy. Editor will contribute editorial to the online publications and official event websites and will help manage the online content. Editor position requires extensive photography. Strong photography experience is recommended, but basic photography knowledge is acceptable, and can/will be trained, for the right candidate. Editor must own (or purchase) his/her own camera SLR-type Digital Camera.
Qualifications:
At least three years of experience in writing, photography and editing for automotive publications. Must be comfortable working with technical automotive subjects and have demonstrated the ability to write excellent, well-detailed articles. Strong managerial, organizational and interpersonal skills will be needed. Position is deadline driven, and applicant must have history of excellent attention to timeliness.
Salary:
Salary is negotiable depending upon experience and skills. ProMedia offers a solid benefits package including health plan, paid vacation, and travel expenses.
