Yes I'm a newbie. Yes I've hit the newbie thread. lol There seems to be a wealth of knowledge on yellowbullet so.......Kinda new to this supercharger and fuel injection thing. Old set up was a 351w and carb. Got a 93 mustang and is a street car that will see the strip occasionally. Just put a P1SC on and has a 302 with afr 185 heads. #1 do I really need a better ignition system like an msd? Its alright if I do, just didn't want to spend the money if I didn't have to. #2 what brand and number spark plug should I run? #3 what would be a SAFE timing number to start with? (not really sure of compression ratio cause the engine was already in car and I haven't done anything to it) #4 Do I need an FMU? If not how do I get around it? #5 what size injectors should I run? Lastly what size mass air flow sensor (or if theres a way I can get around it) and do I need something like an Anderson PMS (or some other type tuning) I know thats alot of questions just don't wanna go buy stuff that I don't need or want work. Supercharger guru's please help. Thanks in advance. Aaron

#1- Probably. I was never a big "believer" in a hot ignition system before I went boosted. It ran ok boosted at 8 PSI but then I put a water/meth system on it. You could feel the car nose over when the meth came on. I talked to Rodney at AIS and he said put a box on it. Sure enough, I put an MSD6AL-2 programmable on it and picked up a tenth in the eigth with no other changes.

#2 I run NGK 8 heat range for street strip. The strip only guys usually like a 10

#3- You are playing with fire if you really don't know the CR....you need to figure that one out before you start playing around too much. Can you at least do a cranking compression test??

Thanks Greg O. Sorry its taken so long to reply. I figured my compression ratio is somewhere around 9:1??? 58cc afrs, stock type piston, i figured they're in the hole .005 (which is what ive been told most 5.0l are). Using .051 cometic head gaskets. Are you (or anybody thats reading) using an aftermarket computer set-up? Will an Anderson PMS do what I need to do. didn't really want to spend the money on a stand alone system. Thanks.
