I need help choosing a battery (or batteries). After a couple hours researching, I think I'm worse off than when i started. I currently run two Optima Red tops. They are 5-6 years old and I ran into them not charging as fully as I need. I was going to get two Optima Yellow top deep cycle ones. But is there a better choice? 12v, 14v, 16v ??? Higher reserve capacity ??? Also, I really don't want any real pricey required charger. I don't mind buying a new charger, but not $300! Also, no lithium....love to but cannot afford.
Battery requirements:
-FAST XFI
-MSD 7720, 7730 power-grid ignition.
-Mezere "large" water pump (55gpm I think) for intercooler water.
-"ShiftNoid electric shifter (2-speed, 1 shift per pass).
-PCS Digital Dash.
-Tailights / maybe headlights at night.
-Trans brake
-Line Lock

I don't run an alternator, so I would charge after each pass.
Ideas ??

Not actually, I have had them that long. Car sat for 1.5 years while building new engine. Also, most their life was when the car still had an alternator.

1 Rock battery and charger. It's over your $300 mark but is a great piece.

XP1000 battery here and D1004 charger. I have all the same stuff you're running also.

Be sure to periodically charge it when not in use (winter time).
