Does anyone have experience with putting aftermarket aluminum heads on a mark V BBC? I was told that fel-pro makes a gasket that makes it work with the goofy water passages that are in the one piece rear seal mark V blocks. I have a couple of these and want to put together a 496 for brackets.

The head company can give you the right gasket part # for that block. Just give them a call.

I put lots of Mk4 heads on gen 6 blocks. All that required was head gaskets that had the front deck surface not opened up. Used mostly Detroit Gasket. Would have thought Gen5 would be the same but.......
