Looking to convert the 3:08 open to a 3:08 posi, what would be a good unit for a stock firebird 400, TH 400? Looking for the posi and the gears for a street car, good manners,raced once in a blue moon,little noise. Thanks

The eaton ls is very good, the better option would be the true track, but im not sure it's avail for the 8.2

For what a carrier cost for the 8.2 you could pick up a junkyard 8.8 out of a mustang, ranger, explorer, and be better off possibly cheaper. If you are die hard on staying OE pick what ever is cheapest because the diff will out last the axels and studs in a drag race situations.
