Hey guys/gals, although most everyone seems to be honest, we will sometimes run into some low life who wants your hard earned money. What can be done?

You can file a claim in the YB.com Negative seller/buyer feedback section to alert others on the board

You should also file a claim with www.ripoffreport.com to make the alert more widespread. Please read that board as it has a lot of useful information.

Last you can file a claim with www.ic3.gov who works with the FBI and National White Collar Crime Center. Claims can be files on behalf of someone or as a group if needed.

When buying or selling anything please collect as much information from the person on the other end as possible. Things like home address (No PO boxes), phone number, full name and also check in the feedback section and with other members on their experiences. This will save a lot of headaches!!!

YB.com will not stand for the bullshit that has happened in a couple of instances. I will provide all information to the authorities. The buck stops at YB.com and we will not back down to any low life scumbag!!!!!
Thank you Monty for the info,This is a truly great site youv'e got going. I also want to apologize to you and other members for joining and venting over getting ripped off by Dominator engines. I only wanted to warn you and other members. I should have waited till I cooled down ! Thank You Monty again. SantafeGeorge

Road trips and ass whoopins do not go hand in hand!! I bought a motorcycle off of e bay and got ripped off. I lived in TX, loaded up beef jerky for a road trip to Olathe KS and found the guy. To this day he is walking with a limp. I hope to hell his knee cap hurts extr bad in bad weather.
Well, I got caught, cost me 3 years, a wife, my home and I made my Momma cry. biggest mistake of my life, not my only one.
I have a thread on bad dealings with a vendor here on YB. The point of my thread isnt so much who took me but why its my fault........
I contacted the police about the screwing I took, have name, addy and e-mails, phone calls ect...cop just laughed and basically called me an idiot for sending money across country to someone I didnt know...he's right, cannot argue with that logic. If Im that dumb to trust someone who doesnt take a credit card, you at the mercy of the person you sent your money and trust to.
Just wanted to throw this tidbit in....car guys are good guys and I hate to see soemone make a mistake and have it cost them. You can get screwed, cops wont chase him down na dhe has all the rights when you touch him....not right...just the way it is..... Good luck guy's......Joe

Does the ic3 link still work and function? I clicked on it, seems to work? Just didn't know if it'd go through or not and didn't want to waste my time. I need to file a complaint on a fellow member on here unfortunately. Thanks

Anyone know? Guy got me out of $300 about 2 months ago, was going to let it slide but I changed my mind. I don't want to be okay with me letting him get away with my hard earned money.

looking for advice: purchased a BBC race engine, guy claims minimal runs and posted consistent time slips. We kinda know the guy but not personally. Friend of a friend type of situation. Regardless, bought the engine, when we got it he drained the oil out and no filter on it. No big deal, or so we thought. So we asked what weight oil they ran etc prior to firing. Got all the valves set, new plugs, System One oil filter, 8 quarts of oil etc etc. Fire it up, only has 60 pds.Engine warms up it drops to 25. We call the seller and ask is this normal. Response was yes. Ok, did some research and figured it had one of those Titan oil pumps that will only maintain certain pressures. The oil pressure was consistent, never went to 0, it was always 60 start up and 25 at 140degrees. Engine had lots of smoke at start up, it would clear up some but still smoking. Found out no valve seals on the exhaust side. Put seals on it. It cleared up but still smoke. At that point we are thinking ok this thing needs ran then maybe we are good. Never left our shop, never hit over 3000 rpm. We kept checking the oil filter, it was clean. Then engine started acting like it was laboring. Kept stalling etc. Changed the battery, changed flex plate and starter. Still same issues, no change. Finally, it locked up. Pulled the oil filter again, bearing material everywhere. Pulled it apart. EVERY SINGLE ROD BEARING IS SPUN. Turns out crank is 10 under, main bearings were 10 under, guess what the rod bearings were.... standard~~~~ It trashed everything, crank, pistons, lifters, cam. Bearing material all through it!!! Now, I find different parts than seller said were in the engine. I call seller and give the news. Seller says we are lying and the engine would never run that way. Well it did and here are my broken parts. I realize this is a race motor and anything can happen but this was totally preventable. Am I wrong to at least ask for help on a rebuild????? Should I get a lawyer if seller will not give me a penny???

Seeking advice- HELP!

If the seller did not ask you "What would you like me to do" in the first conversation after the engine failed, you are probably on your own. Sounds like he had a lemon and now its lemonade. Unless he is willing to refund your complete paid price and take the engine back, you can not come out on it. Life's lesson, don't trust an engine you have not seen run for an extended time.
