Boost referenced regulator, set the base psi then let the regulator do the work for you.

thats what i thought but when i put 20 lbs of air to the regulator im only getting 23 psi of fuel and my base fuel is set at 6.5 psi. and my motor needs 26.5 psi. is the reguator bad? i put 40 psi to the regulator and the guage showed 40 psi so the fuel pump is good

Is the 23 psi with engine running or not? If it is when it is running maybe you have to small returnline? If it is when engine is off you need the same pressure of air at the end of the carb feedline as the pressure of air to the reg to get the reading correct.

If your free flowing the reg, it is going to fall a little short on pressure with no resistence on the outlet. I hope your free flowing the reg, or you just filled your motor with a lot of fuel.
