Looking at putting a set of front runners on my 70 chevelle, what are my options for a nose heavy 3800lb car? BTW the nose weighs 2140lbs. Thanks

dragrace only...any of the name brand front runners...for street strip type car i would us sportsman's

Yep drag race only. I dont like the sidewalls buldging like there gonna blow!

I have a 3600 lbs. 67 chevelle with big block iron merlin heads. Car weighs in a little over 1960 in the nose. I have ran radials,moroso,and sportsman tires at one time or another and never had a problem with either, and I am goin on 16 years now. I would never contemplate putting a wider tire on the front of my car. Just don't push the corners like an ass!!!! I do agree with above the sportsmans did seem to be the best sidewall for stiffness!!

I ran Weld draglite 15 x 3.5's on my old 74 Grand Prix with sr165's, tons of street miles and no issues. It was pretty far North of 4000 lbs.

On my chevelle (3850lbs) i use a 205/70R15 on a 3.5" wheel. Fits good and has a nice look under the front. IMO the 165/80R15 is to small looking.

I had 165's on a 3.5 on the front of my challenger but they just looked too small and didn't drive too good either.

i have mt et front 28x4.5 on weld rodlite 15x5s. car weighs 3570 w/me and its an olds big block with iron heads. never weighed the front but im sure its heavy. i run 30 psi, track driven only, pulls small wheelies, about 150 passes on these tires, no issues. i did have the sportsman 4 ply but in a 26, couldnt get them in a 28, but very heavy compared to the front runners.

I have MT 27.5x4.5 ET Fronts on mine, they do fine.

3800lbs and 55% of that on the front.

Usually 35psi.

If I am not mistaken JMatt used them on his 10 second 4000 lb+ Hemi Charger with no trouble?
