I'm hearing $10,000+ dollars in prize money so far, this is a true 10.5/Outlaw heads up race at DTR (1/8 mile) in Midland, Tx Aug. 16.. I believe this is the most prize money they have had yet.

For more info, rules..etc..: http://www.westtexastruetenfive.com/

There could also be some more info popping up on www.rowdyrides.com in the near future as well, thats our local car site.

Its always a fun time to watch as well, for anyone interested in the area

Here are some pics i've done from previous races..

Is it 10,000.00 for two different classes, or all prize money for one class?

Jeff, I looked at their website. Rules don't allow 1000ci motors or twin turbo bb's or backhalved cars/trucks.... We do, however, have a race in Baton Rouge coming in November. I'll call ya at lunch

The race consist of 2 classes. The first class being the true 10.5 class (no wheelie bars allowed) and the second class being outlaw-backhalved cars(wheelie bars allowed). Cars in the 10.5 normally run in the 5.40 range and the backhalf cars normally run in the 4.90 range. Please go to www.westtexastruetenfive.com for all the rules.

ssmac has got it..

The True 10.5 class runs 2 qualifying passes then they setup a quick 8 that is the "A" class and everyone else is in the "B" class.. I believe it is the same with the Outlaw (backhalf) class.. the prize money is split up between the classes.. I don't think they have set the purses for each class yet.

This was originally setup as a "budget" style local heads up type thing.

You guys with 10.5 cars that won't fit in the 10.5 class in this thing would probably fit in the outlaw class, but I don't know how much they are racing for yet.

Just like Chad said you cant have no 1000ci motor with 4 systems..and no bb twins... We aint allowed!!
This is true in the 10.5 class however in the Outlaw class (back-half cars) there is no cubic inch limit. I am not sure what class you guys were thinking of running in but it is something to consider.
