Im thinking about getting a set of Mickey Thompson et street 255/60/15 on a set of billet specialties 15x8 5.5 bs on my 91 notch. Im wanting to run in the low/mid 10s and still drive/race the streets how fast are people going on them?

I've been 9.82 at 138 on them with a 1.32 60' N/A. Probably could go a lot faster on a better track and spraying. See the videos below. It moves out! And, I drive it on the streets some. Took it around town last week when the weather was nice. Mounted mine on 15x10 Alumastars, and they look good! I footbrake, leave off an idle, 3.89 rear gears and a 2.52 first gear TH350! Pay no attention to the dial-in on the window in the picture below, I was testing and a bracket race was the only time to do it. I plan to be the first guy in the 8s on these tires next year and the first guy with a 1.2x 60' on these tires!!

Just to clarify, I am SURE I'm not the fastest on these tires. I was just trying to say that 9s are easily do-able on them with a properly setup car.

Just like the OP, I am also interested in hearing who has been faster than me on them AND who has been the fastest of all. I haven't heard of anyone running 8s on them and I hope to be the first.

I would like to note that all of the cars going fast have very well set up suspension...y not just put a 275-60...and if u say u will be hitting the street the 275-60 will probably hook better for u

Im not set on that sizee. Just don't want to hack up the car for some 28" tires. This motor I'm looking for mid to low tens and already under way for the next motor to hopefully go mid nines.

I'm in the same boat notch. Trying the 255 drag radial as to have a little extra room for travel with street driving and a spool. Interested to see who has gone fast. I have 3600 lb. malibu, mid tens footbrake.

The M/T 255/60 is far from a "hard off the shelf" tire ,and about 95% of the PSCA Street Challenge cars run the m/t
You are confusing the ET Street Drag Radial for the S/T Radial. The latter is the only M/T tire legal for PSCA Street Challenge.

What brand of tires are they using? I have been 7.17 N/A in the 1/8th mile and 6.71 on small shot with mastercraft avenger gt tires in 3300lbs street car

made my first runs on the255 this saturday. First time on a radial ever, kep pressure at 18 pounds and it dead hooked every time! Went quicker and faster than the bias ply ever did. This is a 3600 pound malibu, driven to track, footbraked. Street manners were also much more friendly. Quickest was the last pass i dumped a hair early, went 10.56. Best mph was 127. good times!:drinkers:
