On a sbc 18* 420 ci motor that propels a door car to mid 5.70 ets in the 1/8, approximately how much spray in a plate system would it take to run 5.30s. this car engine,and rear gearing and convertor are setup for N/A. Just trying to get an idea of what hit i will need to run a certian index class. Car weight with driver is 2800lbs,5800 stall, 5.13 rear gears,1.80 glide,14.3:1 engine.

At that level, .4 is a pretty big jump. I'm betting the gear is going to be too much and the converter is probably too loose to handle the 300 shot its going to take.

Keeping the same rear gear and converter, with pretty much anything more than just a whiff of nitrous the car will probably be on the shift lite all the way down the track.

175 on a cheater plate........same combo as my bracket bomber, went 5.72 at 121 on motor.......175 on a junk ass cheater plate went 5.28 at 135.......and it was on the shift light just before the stripe.......410 12 degree sbc with 1.80 glide 5.30 gear, 32" hoosier.....tightend the convertor over the winter left the gear alone and put on 33x 10.5w's for help on the top end, with a fogger hoping to run in the 4's this spring
