I recently installed and Electromotive coil pack ignition system and a crank trigger on my SBC. Occasionally when cranking, there is no signal from the trigger to the box. There seems to be a huge amount of EMI being emitted from my elec w/p appears to have a definite impact on the trigger signal. Any ideas how I can reduce the EMI from the w/p?

Thanks, Brian

Are you using shielded or twisted pair for crank signal input? I prefer twisted pair for magnetic setups for better differential immunity. You can also swap out the wiring that feeds the waterpump with shielded wire and ground one end to help eliminate the source of radiation.
