a buddy asked about putting together a 383 for his mud truck. looking to get about 550 hp n/a on a budget. i was figuring on using a solid cam with 26x @ .050 lift. any one do something close. i was also looking at the tfs 215 fast as cast but i am on the fence if they are worth the extra money.

We ran the Etec-170's on a 365" Engine in Mean Street. Car weighed 3215 lbs and ran 10.81 @ 121 MPH on HP. Ran 9.67 @ 139 MPH on a .63 Jet Plate kit. Camshaft was 268* @ .050 w/ .485 lift.

Heads were unported w/2.00" Intakes and 1.6 Exhaust Valves.

The 210's are a much better head. I think a 383 with 12-13/1 compression and a good camshaft you should easily get to where you want to be.

the smaller etec heads have good reviews, it seems like the 210s are too new, i wished i could of found more info on them when i was in the market for heads...but seems like no one is experimenting with them
