Does the controller use the negative ground to pulse the solenoid?

I have a 71900 installed now with a 6A box, but switching to a Digital 7.
My question is for the nitrous retard (Pink wire on Dig7) it shows to go to the Positive side of the solenoid so it drops timing once the solenoid sees +12v.
If the controller were to use the + side to pulse, would it not be jumping the timing all over the place?

Sorry if this has been covered before, I tried to search but did not find it.

Thanks

Controller pulses the ground.

the pink wire on the dig 7 should be tied to the activation wire on the eddy.

BTW up the size of the ground wire that comes with the box since the ground for all the solinoids attached to the box goes thru that one wire.
