Hey Eddie, I've heard that around November or later this year NHRA will be announcing that a rule change is occurring and they will be allowing a 4 valve cylinder head for suzuki. This delayed announcement allows you guys time to get your cylinder head ready for the market. Any truth to the rumor ?

Wouldn't Vortex have to be in the Mix? Monstar ?

What would the Costs Add? 2 Valves turning 14,000 Now

Monstar $3500, 16 Buckets, 16 Valves. 16 Springs , 4 Special 4- Valve Pistons, Special Cams$$$, Added RPM 's $$$---$10,000 +- ??

Doubt NHRA will allow Costs, RPM's to escalate! :p

If NHRA was smart they would allow it and to believe any delay or rule is based off V&H doesn’t make sense. It has been talked about and asked for sometime now (well over a year)and the in-line 4’s need the help. It’s funny how everyone thinks we have any say it. You all can think that but I will not even bother to go back and forth with anyone about it.
To explain a little the first step to being able to have any changes made is the manufacture support. Suzuki does not care about drag racing and doesn’t help anyone in anyway. NHRA will review anything or any part that is submitted as long as the manufacture asks for it to be submitted. Its not about who makes the parts it’s about the MFG’s brand they are going on.
The class needs 2 cyl and 4 cyl engines racing. The 4 cyl package needs help for the last year and NHRA is aware but has gone the route of needing to slow the 2 cyl bikes down. They say is better cost control. The truth of the matter is the V’s are built from billet non OEM parts and have had a few redesigns over last 15 years and the in-line 4’s are based off production engines and limited and that is not fair to the 4 cyl side. It’s a limited market and for someone to spend $500-$750k to design and development is hard to do. You never will sell enough to get back your investment so you have to be willing loose money on it or have a really long term plan. It’s a minimum of a 10 year payback for the investment. We have offered but NHRA is on this keeping cost down kick and that is where it stands as of now.

Well said, I know I come down hard of the HD rules, But you are great for the sport, Back when DSR was racing I thought they developed a new engine package that was shot down by the NHRA, Do you remember this? And if so would it still be a route to take with support? Thanks

If nhra were smart they would start by calling Mitch Brown. Have they contacted Mitch, Eddie ? secondly your figures are way over inflated as due to 3d printing a lot of the cost can be reduced to mockups etc so cut the bullshit. As for keeping costs down, what another load of crap.Looking at the price tag on your bikes shows you're full of shit sometimes.Other than that, cool story bro.:-D:-D:-D

Mitch Brown - Monstar 4-Valve Suzuki Head sad hw only built 17 Hrads, was a spare Time thing, only made $25 Hour , could make $100- $200-or more doing Aieospace projects !

If i remember right , George Bryce built a 4-valve Bike , 3-4 years ago , ran 6.90 and shipped overseas !

Mitch would have based that price possibly off what their market could justify. If he uses a price structure based off eddies company he would make 10 times that an hour.;)
