Those were nice pictures man, thanks for the link, rare picture of Richard Petty when he drag raced.

This to me is the best photo of the bunch. Six guys showing off an 8-inch plastic trophy at the end of the day. There was a time when drag racing was not about "how much are the payouts?" or "how far back do they pay?" or "what about the contingencies?". There was a time when guys could spend a day at the digs and have a great time and if they got lucky, might wind up with a plastic trophy.

You have made my day, made my week, actually. Bud Faubel's Dodge, Ivo's twin Buick digger (when it was only 92" wheelbase). What track was this?
It was somewhere in Virginia. A good friend of mine e-mailed me the link. I'll see if I can get more info.

I liked that one too......those were the "bad boys" our mothers warned us about! lol

Very cool pictures. The track sort of reminds me of English Mountain in Tenn going up that hill at the end then coming down that trail back to the pits........LOL. RM
