cool pics , I liked the starter guy, always jumping in the air. Like George asked do you know what track that is or was.

Awesome!! Had the guys in the office looking over my shoulder at them too. Hey George.....who was at the end of the 1/4 to determine the winner?

This to me is the best photo of the bunch. Six guys showing off an 8-inch plastic trophy at the end of the day. There was a time when drag racing was not about "how much are the payouts?" or "how far back do they pay?" or "what about the contingencies?". There was a time when guys could spend a day at the digs and have a great time and if they got lucky, might wind up with a plastic trophy.

You have made my day, made my week, actually. Bud Faubel's Dodge, Ivo's twin Buick digger (when it was only 92" wheelbase). What track was this?
It was somewhere in Virginia. A good friend of mine e-mailed me the link. I'll see if I can get more info.

Very cool pictures. The track sort of reminds me of English Mountain in Tenn going up that hill at the end then coming down that trail back to the pits........LOL. RM

Thanks for posting the pics.
It may be just me being out in the sun too long today, but it does look like Richard Petty is posing beside his car 43 on the door and another pic with him in the car
