I know the later model 5.3/6.0 engines have the floating pins, bigger rods and all that. My question is, is anybody running an earlier model engine and making 650-750 to the wheels reliably? I don't plan on spinning it any higher than 6300-6500 tops. Let me know your experiences. Thanks in advance.

there are a few guys that have made that power and more but they bend rods if you get to aggressive with the tune/boost and load it down low

750rwhp seems to be safe limit on a weak rod

I was at 700 for quite awhile upped power to 800 bent 4 rods

My buddies 01 5.3 sbe just made 620-640 at the wheels through a th400 with an ebay gt45 and he's been beating on it all summer.

How much boost and what fuel? Do you known what he's running for timing at max boost?

17 lbs from what i remember and its on e85 with 80 lb injectors. Don't know what timing was.

I think 700 ish with a safe tunup will last, but need to be really really careful after that. I would keep timing 15* or less. I bent rods and blew up an early 6.0L with around 800HP and 18 deg in my heavy truck. It lasted a long time in the low 700's and 15 deg.

I made 880 to the tires losing fuel pressure on mine so far. Its been wayy cleaner and happier than it was on that pull on the street. Probably 50 near 200mph highway pulls. Your mileage may vary

Calcs put it over 700whp at 3900lbs. Went low 10s 5 times, that 9, and a bunch of street pulls. Still had good compression when I pulled it and sold it. Built a 5.3 with gen 4 rods because that motor was probably near its limit. That pass was 18-19 psi and 11.5*. 11.0AF starting and hitting the traps at 12.8 running out of injector.
