I was wondering if you can use E85 with nitrous. I have a 12 to 1 555 BBC that I want to convert to E85 but I wasn't sure if it's it's ok to do or not. Also, will the octane level of E85 support a 12 to 1 engine with a 300 shot? Thanks

Not recomended. Run race gas and be happy. You'd have to run a very fat tuneup to start with due to the oxygenation of the E85. I'd vote no especially with the variances in blends.

I do not honestly belive E85 will be a happy fuel with nitrous.

why not? Guys are making over 1200hp with e85 and turbo, why cant the same be had with n2o?
N2O is an oxidizer, turbo's are not.
You are already adding extra oxygen with the E-85.
I would stick with race gas myself. The tuneup would have to be very rich.

I also just switched to running E85 in my 10.8:1 347 in my coupe. I just emailed NX's tech department for the E85 jet map for my NX efi phase 3 plate. It's worked pretty good so far. Run a best of 10.05 at 135 on a 150 shot.

Using a 82n-91f with e85 and 6.25 fp it was very fat.Surged real bad and my wide band was showing 8:1
I pulled some jet out and lowered the fuel pressure to 5.75 and will test it again tomorrow.

Just curious, did you flow the system using O2 Tech's guidelines for cc's/100hp/10sec? I'm getting ready to flow my system using their recommendations too. I'm curious how close the theoretical was to your actual tune up.

What nitrous kit do you have?

From what I see that tune should have worked. Is your wide band on gas or ethanol?

The wide band is set on gas.I think the surging verified what the wbo2 was saying.I have not had a chance to go back out for testing.I did not stay in the throttle long enough to get a plug reading.I decided to start with a smaller tune up until I get a handle on it.I have a 57n-61f and 5.75psi.It should'nt hurt anything if I'm wrong on the jetting.

I did not flow the fuel side like Ricky says to.I'm going by plugs and the wb02 to keep me out of trouble(hopefully)

I'm trying to use EGT since I don't have a wideband O2. It's been pretty straightforward N/A, but I haven't hit the sauce yet. Just trying to do my homework before I do....
