I am a newbie, and here is my Dyno of my Dart Little M 440" SBC April this year. I had a 406 for 7 years in my Nova, and decided it was time for more power ( Street).
My Little SB made 621HP and 600TQ Found out after that we had an overfill of 1 qt, also this HP was the final in car street tune 33 degree's, fat and happy fuel. 440" Dart Little M 4.185" bore x 4" stoke. Callies Magnum XL crank, Callies 6" H-Beams, AFR 227 full CNC Eliminator heads, Jesel Rockers, Super Vic and Patrick James 1000HP 4150. 259in and 262 @.050 Comp SR 112 Isky Red Zone EZ bearing lifters. Diamond 11:1 pistons, Titan oil pump. Tremec TKO-600 5 speed, Moser 12 bolt with 33 spline, and Vintage Air II. Motor has 3,800 miles on it now, and the last rear wheel dyno we did gave us 512HP at the wheels on my very soft street tune. This is a challenging question, What would we say was or is the best combination for the short deck block ? cubic inch, crank and rod length, and most important cylinder head, on any power adder or horse power ?
