The thing that made outlaw 10.5 was the run what you brung mentality ended up hurting it. BBB showing up with a 706 and twin 101s. Kirk showing up with the sham of an outlaw 10.5 car. Mobleys as of recent showing up with the screw blower. Johnny Fenn not budging on the 3,000 weight deal hurt a lot of the nitrous guys. That idiot Kenny bringing up the idea of X10.5. The allowance of top sportsman and pro mods with 10.5s at a certain weight.

true!

It's already been dead and gone down south for many years now. 15-20ish years ago we were in the hunt at the FL tracks with an 871 roots blown 445ci BBC that ran 4.7's. Crashed the car, decided to take a season off to update everything; in that next season the class went from mid 4's to low 4's and by the following year was gone from most our tracks due to low car counts. When you've got a local guy capable of 4.1's or better, the self-funded blue collar guys that started the class stop showing up because they can't justify continually donating their entry fee to the guys who already have exponentially more money to play with.

IMO - The class started and thrived with grassroots guys who wanted to run big power heads-up but couldn't afford promod level racing. Now there's little/no difference between the two.

My Opinion with Mo Hall going 3.70’s good for him and congrats is now doing what Pro Mods go. So now how are we to differ between classes when they all go 3.70’s and 80’s now and 60’s for some ? Radial, 10.5 and Pro Mods all going the same times makes no class differences now in my opinion.

Hey I have been away from the game for a while.

When the guys dropped the hood scoops on the injected cars, I said I felt that was a bad idea.

Because IMHO, even though an injector does not rely on a calm airstream to create an even pressure differential at the venturi, the airflow over a bunch of injectors (again IMO) might cause pressure spikes due to resonance in the airflow at various speeds leading to fat/lean tune-ups at that time on those cylinders.

Now I see Mo's car with a scoop, is he back on carbs ;) , is it (no scoops) just a Fulton or Mo deal, or are other builders/cars starting to bring back scoops on N20 combo's with injection?

So scoops matter on ALL applications. We ran without because we didn’t want to put it on last year. Easier to see. This season we put it back on and noticed a large difference. Again, we know it makes the tuneups cleaner just didn’t have time to put it on for the first race. It’s on to stay now.

As times get quicker you will see cars drop out. Most guys feel they can run 3.90's and 4.0's but 3.70's are a different league for sure for most people.
