Getting close to plumbing my 6 stage dry sump set up. Can I get away with just venting the tank or should I run breathers for the valve covers too?

If the pump is roots style lobes on the scavenge I would not vent the valve covers.let it make vacuum as long as possible on the run. I use a bypass spring check in a line from the valve covers so if the pump can't keep up with blow-by it can relieve the crankcase pressure thru the bypass to either the dry sump or separate catch can. Once the pump catches up the check valve closes and the engine goes back into vacuum. I run a 2 or 3 bar map sensor in the valve cover to keep a tab on blow-by.

I had planned to put a sensor in the crank case. Is the valve cover a better location?
