My buddy has a GM roller sitting around. We were toying with the idea of throwing in a SBF we had laying around. Just to see how it would run. The problem is the SB is a high revving N/A motor.

We did a quick mock up and the driveshaft will be LONG. 58-59 inches. he made a call to a couple of driveshaft spots and they all claimed they cannot make a shaft for him. Unless it is large in diameter. They said that moly would not work. aluminum would work in some lare diameter(maybe) or carbon fiber. This a throw together and we do not want to spend 1000+ on a shaft. How much truth is there to a moly being unsafe for the high RPM/long length???

Has anyone tried using a moly at that length?
