Local shop has had a very lightly used (well under a box of ammo)DPMS AR in .300 SAUM for about 2 years now. Its priced well, but being an odd ball caliber, it continues to sit on the shelf.

Before anyone jumps in about SAUMs and short mags being dead rounds, I already have a bolt gun in .300 SAUM, brass, dies, etc. I like the round. I also have a .300 WSM and a .300 WM, and the accuracy of the SAUM seems to be better and require slightly less powder.

I know if I buy it and it doesn't shoot well, its going to be a hard seller.

So, does anyone here have any experience with one?

Try ar15.com lots of guys shooting them and seem to like them. It shouldn't have any problem getting out to 1k yards with the cartridge, and be a good hunting caliber.
