Just spoke to another racer who was there. Two wrecks this weekend. John Breckenridge came off his bike in the shut down. He's bruised up but o.k. My understanding is that Doug came off just past the finish line at 220 plus. I was told it was another example of moving your hand to grab the brake and the wind getting under it and peeling you off the bike. If you've see the u-tube "death of a top fuel bike" It was the same thing that happened a few years ago to steve Heidner in phoenix. I've heard Doug has a broken finger and maybe some other non life threatening injuries.
My hopes for a full and quick recovery. I've raced with and against Doug a few times in the AHDRA and some nhra exhibition stuff. he and his family are good folks whom I enjoyed dealing with.
