Cindy Gibbs-Arias, the new track manager, said quite explicitly: "we ARE scheduled to have the LODRS event July 29-Aug1"Are they really planning a late July LODRS event? Having lived through one July in Spokane, I wouldn't look forward to traveling there for a race.
Why so grumpy? Look at it this way, if you race in ALL kinds of weather then you learn a lot about car set up and engine performance. That way you can win no matter where or when you are. Plus you can get one of those awesome handheld battery-powered fans and tape it to the roll bar. PLUS you can lose weight while you sweat for FREE! (They actually charge for that at those fancy spa places, y'know.) Just a thought.... LOLThe web site said the contract was signed yesterday -- If the race is end of July - good fricken luck - The planning of this division as far as race dates and geographic weather planning is so poor its just stupid - Hell - div 7 knows that a div race in the middle of the summer in hot weather is not good - they schedule around it - why dont we??????
It will sure show us what NHRA thinks of us in Medicine Hat. Come on up and race for the money, and we have better beer :drinkers:I talked to Jonathan in may about the rumor of having this race scheduled on the same day as the National Open double header in Medicine Hat Alberta, and he said that they could not run two races on the same weekend.
Now it seems that they are indeed going ahead with it, I can't imagine why they would do this, because it greatly effect the car counts at both tracks.
Thanks for the support :smt023. From what I understand from our higher ups, this little scrap is not over yet. If I get more details I will post them here.Medicine Hat has always had that same date for their National Open, so why would D6D allow the Spokane D6 LODRS be the same weekend?
That's absolute BS.
The Spokane LODRS was only just added to D6 schedule about a week ago and is on Spokane's site for a couple months now.
NHRA should pay the Medicine Hat track for their lack of caring, as this will definitely affect M.H.'s National Open car count.
Seems that Spokane gets their way again and they still haven't proved themselves for a full season yet (again). They took away Ashcroft's ET Finals which should of happened this season and it WAS to be at Spokane this year but they went bankrupt or Bucky did. So Mission is having it now, which was originally scheduled for Mission in 2011.
NHRA, again, is showing they don't care for the little guy tracks. That is one reason Ashcroft left NHRA sanctioning, as mentioned above. It is the one race they can make money at and they get shafted!!
AGAIN it's because of Spokane!!
ok off my rant!!
