I am switching from a diaphragm to long style clutch. Upon installation, I noticed that my existing throw-out bearing (mcleod 1300 series) makes contact with the clutch levers on the outside of the bearing surface (verses the diaphragm setup that was right in the middle of the throw-out bearing surface). I contacted mcleod and they said they don't have a larger diameter bearing and have not had any issues with this. But thought I would check with the forum prior to completing the installation. Thx.

I've never had issues with this either, but I'm not sure why you'd switch from diaphragm to Long. On a factory Ford car, the Long style pressure plates work best with the factory linkages, but there's also nothing wrong with a diaphragm with a HTOB.

So I can adjust clutch slip at launch.
Gotcha. Good reason. I've never had issues with a bearing on a pressure plate unless it was a small input bearing on a pressure plate setup for a large input.
