I am relocating the shocks on my 68 Camaro inboard (just finished a mini-tub). My plan is to build a cross member in the trunk and run the shocks through the trunk floor.

I am running a stock length rear shock and am wondering what the optimal travel should be. Do I want it mounted so the shock is at half travel (50% compressed) at rest or do I want it to have more ability to extend (something like 70% compressed) during launch?
