there are two reasons most 50ae desert eagles, look new, regardless of how old they are.

1> ammo is fucking expensive!(even reloading it is not cheap!)
2> that damn gun with its massively heavy slide recoils weird and torques the shooter around. Even self admited recoil junkies dont like shooting it a lot.

Yeah i bought mine in 99 for ~1000, and even after i had it ported, Magnaported, it was still a nasty mean thing to shoot, the way it recoiled was not nice to my wrists at all. Sold it about 2 years later, i only put ~150 rounds through it for ~1500. Lost money on that one, but it was nice to have for a while. It was good for only one thing, having the biggest loudest auto pistol on the range.

I bought a 50ae a few months back. For me, it was just to have one. I enjoy shooting it, but it does have some nasty recoil. I've probably only shot ~60 rounds through it in the last few months.

I think it is a cool gun to have.

I bought my .44 DE back in 93 because I was getting funny twinges in my wrists from shooting my .44 wheel guns. I like the soft recoil and the way it fits in my hands. I thought about buying a .50 but a friend bought one and he didn't like the recoil so I stayed with the .44.

.50 AE brushed s/s
Hogue grips
stock grips
three matching s/s mags
.50 brass brush
maybe 4-5 boxes of ammo

It has one box of 20 rounds shot through it. it is like all of them, practically new.

Desert Eagles don't kick that hard at all. Their automatic action and sheer mass dampens the recoil to where it's not hard at all to shoot. My brother bought a .50AE back in the 90's, and his 115lb girlfriend had no trouble shooting 325 grain bullets out of it.

Here is a picture of me shooting it in full recoil back then. My dad took the pic with a 35mm film camera! You can see the spent casing in the air, along with the 2L soda bottle vaporizing at 25 yards! Thing sounds like a high powered rifle going off! Fun toy to take to the range!

There are reports that the newer ones are not the Israli Arms units like the old ones, and aren't as reliable. The one he has runs great as long as you don't hold your hands too low and push on the magazine too hard while firing.
