Brother and I went to a planet of a apes marathon back in the day ( way back haha, snuck into vanishing point same day to see the naked chick riding the chopper!). This looks killer!

IMO, the first one wasn't bad, but I just couldn't get through the 2nd one. Doubt I'd watch this one either. Sort of like the original series .... first one wasn't bad, but the rest shit the bed.
Hollyweird ran out of ideas years ago. Almost everything they make now is a remake, or a remake of a remake, of something .... and in most cases, the remakes get progressively worse. Oh sure, the special effects keep getting better, but the storylines and the acting ... they just get dumber and dumber.

Not absolutely necessary, but it will let you know how the leader of the apes came to be.
Saw Dawn of the Planet of the Apes last night. Awesome flick!
