My damper is showing signs of corrosion and i would like to change it for something better anyway, its just a cheap summit item. Should the rotating assembly be rebalanced when changing to another damper?
If it's an externally balanced engine, the counterweight needs to be in the correct position and weight, otherwise it will vibrate like crazy!!! Had a buddy once that put a 400 balancer on his 350....Didn't understand why it shook so hard...said it wasn't too bad at highway speeds....never broke the crank though, and I replaced it with the correct one. Problem solved!
