me 11.66 dial. 11.65 et .003 light...them 17.98 dial 17.98 et with a .066 light MOV .0144

I've lost with a perfect light before so I know how you feel.
My car at the time was pig rich and would take flights of "pick the hell up" to the tune of .040 at times.
Look at you short times and compare them to the other time slips. If you were out of it at the stripe it would have gone quicker. I'm sure you already know this though.

.0144, it is heard to take any less stripe at the speed differential that you two had (given the difference in dials). You did the best you could, nobody said this was an easy sport.

Maybe I'm wrong but my math shows you took the stripe by .070?

The MOV simply showed how much the other lane broke out by.
You took too much stripe OP, happens to all of us from time to time. You took about 1/2 a car or so on him.
