is it possible that a 9 inch convertor can stall 3800-4200 behind a 600 cubed bb with 725 roller and 11 :1 compression with a 3.71 gear -in a 3400# car -and its a bolt together ?

Guess I should have worded it better

I currently have a UCC 9.5 that stalls around 6200-6400 TRADED IN MY CONVERTOR TO LENNY FOR A 10 INCH I currently that should stall 3800-4200
my engine guy wants me to try this bolt together COAN 9 inch that he sent back to them.and had tightened up.

I guess I'm questioning now can a 910 inch give me what I need when a 9.5 won't? Is it the quality of convertor being a bolt together or is my engine guy full of shit

You can have a 9" or 9.5" converter that can go from a very high stall to a very low stall depending on its configuration. The number out front being the turbine diameter doesn't mean too much.

Lenny couldn't make my 9.5 any tighter so how is a 9quality inch bolt together gonna be able to stall where I need it? My 9.5 was top quality parts

Is the bolt together stuff that much better

No. The only difference wtih a bolt-together is you can open it up to see what's going on and be able to service some of the parts yourself.

Many different converters are refereed to as "9 inch".
Some call the 8 3/4" Opel core a 9".
The Ford Cortina had a 9" converter that was popular for performance use at one time...
The 245mm GM core is also referred to by some as a 9".
Each one works very differently and each had a wide variety of stall speeds depending on the pump cover & stator combinations & application.
