will a converter from a 200r4, 700r4 and 4l60 work in the same transmission?
Do these the same internals is what i'm
trying to get at,,, some converters listed in summit say
200r4,700r4 and 4l60's and other converters are listed as
2oor4 and 700r4 only then others list only 700r4 and 4l60??
Thanks for your time.. TC:smt118

200 4R's were 27 spline. Only 82-84 700R4's were 27 spline.....the converters for the two are compatible. 84-92 700R's were 30 spline. The 84-92 700R4 converter is the same as 93-97 4L60E converters. After 98 is when everything changed. The LS1 style converters were different.

in 98 the only change was the clutch in the 98 model year they used a woven carbon fiber clutch which will work fine in earlier years but not vice versa unless you block the pwm valve in the later models. in 99 they came out with the "300 mm" converter but the regular 298 mm converter was still being used as well all the way up to 2004. if you have a 5.3 liter or a 4.8 liter it would be a 300 mm if you have a 5.7 liter you would still have the earlier 298mm style.
