I am running an A1 converter. The stall speed was set up to be 5800 rpm when it was behind a 406 sbc making approximately 625 hp. My new motor is a 434 sbc making approximately 775 hp. Would this make the stall speed 6000 to 6200 rpm? Or does the converter need to be reset? It is in the same car at the same weight. I am going to send the converter to be freshened and was just wondering if I should have them reset the stall to my new combo.

My old combo was a 577hp 355 sbc and a 5800 Coan convertor.I Changed to a 760hp 422 18* sbc and sent my convertor in to Coan and Art said it would stall at 6700 rpm (where he wanted it to be) without any changes...he was right on,and works perfectly.Good luck,Grant
