My converter flashes 6300 at launch and i'd like a little more.it only drops 800 on the shift which is ok.i'm crossing the 1/8 @7500! I know its a beat to death subject but [email protected] rpm with 4.30 gear an 33" tire  this is a big tire n/a 2550# door car with a605 bbf with a reid 1.80 glide. The converter was not built for this motor, just a starting point.ideas?

The converter is already slipping a ton at 7500 rpm and only 134 mph with a 33 inch tire and 4.30 rear gear.
Yes, thats half the problem.is it possible to improve on that andget more stall? The converter in it now is a 9".

Depending on how much power it makes and how high you want to rev the motor , yes.

1000-1100 hp just a guess from the et and mph.the heads flow very good and the motor makes a lot of power from 6600rpm up.i shift at 7600+ but dont look to turn it harder than i have to. :D

I have seen 8" converters work very well at this HP level but many times a 9" is used instead. There is a few 9" converter cores to use and some work much better than others.
