I would consider the head conventional.....no raised runners, stock intake and exhaust bolt up,stock valve location.

when peaple talk conventional headed BBC they usually mean ports close to stock location..

it would be considered exotic:)

Rule in question is from Arkansas Outlaw Racers- Real Street Class

#20: Big Block Heads: All Big Blocks-No Big Chiefts, No Big Dukes etc. Conventional Heads ONLY. Must be style of head from a Production Vechicle.

As the rules are worded they are legal. Nothing about how many where made(1,200) or nothing saying no HEMI style head. This at some point will also come up with the Mopar fans about Hemi head legal or not, and also by the way the rules read they would be legal at this time.

It will depend on the racing series, Texas Pro-Stock and NMCA Pro Stock allows the A-429/A-460 head in as a Conventional head all thro they are a rised runner type head, not much different then some AFTER MARKET BBC heads. As far as a Cobra Jet or P51 head making the power of a BBC with the lastest heads on them it's not going to happen, BUT the A-429/A460 head would come a lot closer if they are allowed in the series.
