Just trying to make sure I get where I want to be.
I want to run 10.50 N/A and hopefully an 8.50 class sprayed.
By my calculations I would need 600hp to run10.33 @ 129 N/A and 1100 hp to run 8.44 at 158 on the jug.

Combo wise Im using a 406sbc ; 400 trans, and a 9" with 4:10 on a 275 radial, RPM wise it will spin at 8300 through the lights at that mph with that gearing.
By my calcs I need at least a 1050cfm carb using a 95%VE and an 8200 redline. Sound right? How does NOS effect the calculations for CFM?
How do you determine what the flow numbers on the heads need to be to choose what size head?
Based on head flow what cam and converter recommendations?
I believe I read they should be on a 110 center and .10 difference between Int and Exhaust.

Thanks, just trying to work backwards to get where I want to be.

Just curious. What tells you that you need a 1050 carb? I had a 13:1 408 running 10.20's at 3300 lbs with a 950, and a 13.5:1 406 running 10.50's at 3550 lbs with a 950.
