I just had to cut off the brackets that were welded to the rear end and weld on some longer brackets since I purchased some longer coil-over shocks.
well, it was hell cutting the old brackets off and rather than have to grind for hours upon hours to clean up all the weld from the previous mounts, I decided to just move the mount in about 1/2" over. So the shocks now have a slight angle from the top mount to the bottom mount. Its not a big difference, but you can see the angle looking straight at them.
Question is, will this be a big deal? I've seen rear coil-overs on other cars mounted at angles, so I wasn't sure. I'm debating welding a square tube between the two brackets as an extra support for them.
LMK your thoughts. This is on an 80 Mustang coupe with a 9" and mini-tubbed. Strange single adjustables, 12" 95 lbs springs. Car weighs righ at 3000 lbs with driver and fuel.
