All,
Where is a good place to stay in the Clearwater/St Pete Florida area. I would like a nice place to stay and preferably on the beach. As a child I grew up going to Clearwater, but I do believe it has comercialized a good bit in the last 20 years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I know it is not the best area for it, but I would also like to go snorkel while I am down there. Does anyone have any suggestions for this in that area as well...???
Thanks,
Mike

Don Cesar and Sandpearl resort are the nicest places I have stayed at around there. We stay in that area atleast 4 long weekends a year. The Belleview Biltmore is a cool place, but it's shut down for renovations.

My mom lives on Maderia Beach. Nice and laid back area. Not as many people on the beaches. You might look into that area. Could be alot cheaper then Clearwater. Located just south of Clearwater.

Maderia is real easy going but the water just sout of there is better.. like someone said Treasure Island.. Bilmar or the Thunderbird are not to bad to stay at on Treasure Island .Around 125 a night or so .. But stay north on Treasure Island beach..............!!!!

You do know the water Temps are running in the high 50 to low 60's .. damm cold

Not bad, but for the BEST seafood in the area it's "Salt Rock Grille".

I have been going to St.Pete Beach, Madeira Beach, Johns Pass since I was a little kid. Last summer the whole family stayed at the Sunset Vista Condo's in that area and they were extremely nice and it wasnt packed at all.
