yes or no? if so, what cleaning solution? they are not grimey, just been sitting around(covered).

Ultrasonic you can not use anything flammable. Water base cleaner only. May not want anything that can rust inside lifter? Clean mineral spirits in a container may be all you need.

I use Simple Green and filtered water, 20:1 concentration, in my ultrasonic for most not too dirty engine parts and carbs. Nice because it will not harm the carb decals some custom builders use on bowls.

I use a small glass bowl of solvent (from the parts washer) set in a water bath in the ultrasonic cleaner. Let it get up to about 120* and do them one pair at a time. I've never done hydraulics but it works well on solids.
