Light, full frame (the 2nd gen are factory boxed to the rear of the cab) , rear wheel drive, suspension that works with simple bolt ons, room for a decent size tire without body or frame mods, relatively easy to install a SBC and there are a million of them out there.

I was looking for something to run with a couple 406 engines I already had. I originally was looking for a C3 Vette then a Monte Carlo SS turned up but the guy wanted too much. I'm extremely happy I ended up with this little truck. It's turned out to be a neat little hot rod and very consistant for relatively little money. Now I just need to finish painting it...this winter.

I gave a grand for mine as a roller. Thought I overpaid but the body was in such great shape I don't regret it for a minute. A little surface rust on the floorpan where the drivers feet go but absolutely nothing else except some dings. I'm a bodyman and hate messing with rusted out crap.

If you want to follow a build up go to http://classracer.com/classforum/index.php.

From the home page scroll down to "Class Racer Buildups" then look for "Woodfin's GT buildup."

I am building a S-10 for Super Stock GT. The engine will be old school 327 - 300 horse that uses a 585 Holley.

The thread has just begun, only tear down and clean up to this point. Check the thread every few days. I will post regular updates and photos.

I kept the dash and door panels in mine in case someone wants to go that way in the future. I'd never be able to afford it.

Here's a link to my build thread.

Checked out the build. One word of advise.....throw nothing away yet! I've been to the junk yard several times getting things I tossed in the scrap pile.

Any idea what class a 350 would fall into?
