As per SFI an 8.50 sticker is good for 5.50

So with most heads up cars that would be around 160 MPH 1/4 and 130 MPH for 1/8th

Why does the SFI base the certifications off of ET and not MPH?

What would it take to petition SFI to place a max MPH to the cert stickers??

I do plan on attending the SFI meetings this year

Good question. I think its maybe just that the specs are simply outdated. The relatively new high HP turbo cars that run 8.50's traction limited at 170-180mph are all too common. Technology is advancing way faster than the safety.
