I have a BTE full tree transbrake valve body. Can it be changed to the quicker release Pro tree valve body fairly easily? Transmission is apart for new planetaries this winter. I believe TSR makes a kit for this, and it seems like I may have read something about doing it in Monroes PG book although I can't remember the specifics.

Yes it can be changed and it would be the best time to change it when the trans is apart so you can change the reverse clutch springs at that time also.

I e-mailed TSR about their kit and was wondering why Carl Munroe says a BTE full tree brake couldn't be converted? I got this response:
Hello David,
As far as I know, you can not convert the BTE full tree to a pro tree. Our brakes are set up so you can switch back and forth with just a separator plate swap.
Our pro tree brake is $269.95. We have a Do-It-Yourself kit for $159.95

I guess I misread your post. I thought you were changing out the entire valve body,not altering the one you have.
