I’m doing some tuning on my car and hooked up a vacuum gauge and at full throttle I have about 5in of vacuum and at around 5000 rpm the vacuum just starts increasing from there. At about 6700 it’s at about 8-9 inches of vacuum.

This is my first carb’d setup so I’ve been reading as much as I can. From what I’ve found, vacuum would be around 1-1.5 or less at WOT? More than that would benefit from a bigger carb?

Setup is
347 10:25.1
Afr 185s
Solid roller 236/243 .603/.588
Chinese funnel web intake, not ported
Quickfuel 750 slayer carb

No air cleaner.
Gauge is connected to the full manifold vacuum port on the bottom of the carb.

pretty sure I found the problem. The adjustment for the secondaries were set all the way slow. 🤦‍♂️

I just went out And adjusted the secondaries. I was able to get the WOT vacuum down to 2in and hold but the engine starts to break up a little.

I’ll be messing with it more tomorrow.

Quick Fuel sells a Brawler Series 850 that is less expensive. It is a street/strip version. Has a electric choke, which of course can be removed, mechanical secondaries, and a lot of good features for the price. $400 range. PM me if you want details.
