I can't answer that specifically for the 460 motor, but I've put roller rockers on 2 differenct SBF motors and used the same stock height valve covers, though they were both cast aluminum style.

The rockers aren't that much taller, it's the adjustable hold down nuts that stick up taller. On both of the SBF's I did it on, I had to modify or remove the baffle under the breather opening. One more way to get a little clearance is to find someone that sells a thicker valve cover gasket.

you are aware that there WERE some BBF ( 385 series) engine ./ heads that had a stock steel / stud mounted adjustable rocker,,

but most employed a crush/self locking nut.

so, it can be done...

issue usually is the taller height of a common poly-lock nut.
