I ran one of those on the street in +/-1980. Bought it from General Kinetics - drove down to Trumbell Avenue across from the old ballbark & picked it up. Car would idle with a wicked chop at 1100 and would shut off like you pulled the coil wire at 1050....

I believe it was in the old Pro Stock that got deleted. Goneracin (Bob) post that their cam looked like a brick. I posted up a picture of two lobes asked if it looked like either. He said somewhere between the two.

Dan Crower and I were going to put one of those in a Windsor or Cleveland for the Engine Masters one year. Flat tappet limited lobe lift rule that year.

yeah, when Dan suggested the cut-nose and drew it out for me and I asked " what does the lifter do at the top? " Bruce said " it just keeps climbing and gets lofted over the top. It's all about controlling the landing on the back side"

This one is the insides of the new cam chest..we have 1.500 base circle and .600 lobes and big strong drive gears. What we run today has 1.00 base circles and .500 lobes..with LOTS of rocker ratio :smile:

S&S Cycle makes this stuff for us, they own Crane Cams as well. I was thinking you guys need some good billet engine porn to make you smile...:smile:

Or when all else fails, how about a conventional asymmetrical. It gets the valve open pretty fast and still runs some rpm.

Give me the research money, and I will find a way to do that using electrically operated hydraulic valves, but why bother, electric motors are coming for all our lunch money, in 10-15 yrs, people will be going, GAS why would you drive around with a flammable explosive close coupled to your ass and burn it in a cylinder to drive ?

Change comes very very slowly.... simple economics. Heck, obama was in 8 years, and things are as they were. 25 years min you will have your utopia..... 10-15, will look just like today. Heck the Volt has been out 7 already.
