current cam is 30/30. [email protected] 485 lift 114 separation

My Covid shelter at home plan ( Chicago)

110 separation

Edelbrock TM1 intake

What’s my purpose? Make more power that’s the current cam

gearing is currently Tremec and a 3:73 ( changing to 4:56)

Thoughts ??

I’d prefer less than 110 like 106. I feel it will be drastic improvement over 114 separation and much less seat duration 😴

what do you have for valve springs and rockers ? what is the first gear in the tremec ? tire size ? what rpm do you want to shift at ?106 lsa with 260 would give too late ex valve closing for street use with mufflers imo but would be good with rpm and open headers.

nice , no experience with that trans but lots with muncie in a 69Z and 3.73 should work with that 1st gear maybe 4.56 if Randy gets you launching at 9500 😎 I think that trans has a wide spacing and Od 5th so maybe 4.10 be perfect guess depends how wild you want the cam . if your heads had stock spring pockets and rockers until you upgraded I was thinking 525 lift 108 lsa , isky z35 with 235d springs .

Had a look at the ratios in the tremec and can see why your planing on 4.56 . With that .68 od you could run 4.88 and still have a nice cruise gear for 302 . Big drop 1-2 funny why they used such a low 1st .

just the cam swap will be a definite increase in performance. dont discount the Z intake, as it works quite well for an old dual plane.

Stripes , a circle track cam like CamKings might save you a gear change , or put the 4.56 in with a little more duration and rpm 🤩
