What’s the best size turbo for a built 331 dart, forged internals , Tfs 190 twisted wedge heads, f cam air to air cooler, bs3 computer on 93 octane gas? I’m hearing people making 750 to the tires on 93 pump. I was looking at the new precision ls turbos like the 7675, 82 and 84. This is just a street car that will get beaten on 93 octane weekly.

My 331 (actually 337) spooled instantly with a PT7675cea...made 731 wheel on pump 93 with meth. TW 170's on that combo.

being the title says budget then you talk about the precision heres the ebay china options.

billet t78 or known also as 78/75 with t4 .96 a/r..run like $260 off ebay,vs racing sells them also for more with different wheels an have a newer version with a larger a/r..then you got the china billet s475 for like $550,s480 clone stuff for like mid $600s unless you want a 1.58 t6 one an billet then they run like $750 an that point just get the s488 for $50 or same price sometimes an its good for 1300 wheel with the 1.58 on meth but then you could just do twin 7875s with .68 a/rs an do like 1400.

78/75 will spool quick but they max like 750 on pump an meth.s475 will get you the same or more depending on exh choices made.the s480 will get you mid 8s or 9s depending again..

I was looking at the vs 7875, but I’m hoping to be in the 5 to 6k for the turbo kit. I figure I can spend around 2k for the turbo. I think I can get a nice s480 or precision for around that

Does $5-6k include buying a fuel system or do you already have something suitable? If staring from scratch you will probably use half of the money putting that together.

I can sell you guys SBF, SBC, LS, or Coyote, Turbo headers, TIG Welded, 304SS polished or raw finish, 1-3/4" or 1-7/8", 3.00" collectors, flow cones in collectors, WITH V-bands already welded on them, matching v-band flange included for under $500 shipped and many cases considerably less than that. These are the nicest import headers I have ever seen

When I hear budget, I think
GT45 Amazon, last one I bought was $168
Tial wastegate is one thing I would splurge on
Import not custom headers. The ones Turbo2 mention would be great and there are others.

Those headers look like knock offs of the stainless works sbf kit. They look really good compared to lots of the import junk I’ve seen online

I'm really partial to the OEM vendors for turbo builds. I used a holset on my last build with no complaints but Borg Warner is probably your best bet. You can get an s480 for $900 that will make stupid power and take a beating. Borg Warner even has a nice matchbot tool that plots your engine and rpm against several of their common compressor maps and let's you tweak all the parameters.
