I have a fresh motor and my breather on top of my oil catch can seems to be smoking a little bit?

-12 line off of one valve cover into catch can with breather on it!

The motor was just on the chassis dyno. I don't remember it smoking at all before. I have good oil pressure and no knocks or ticks. I am going racing next weekend should I do a leak down and compression test to make sure everything is ok or I'm I just paranoid??? How much should they smoke if anything at all?

This is a sbc singe turbo motor!

Thanks YB!

It'll smoke a little bit, but not excessive...

You should leak down test your race engine in between every racenite or weekend.

It is just a little bit! I can leak it down just wanted some opinions!
Some cars my steam of the dew in the valve covers after sitting awhile.

Ours smokes a little too. If too much oil is going into the catch can, the engine is not sealed. Could be anything from the rear main to a small vaccum leak. We have run it plenty of times that way. Most of us zip tie a towel on the breather to prevent oil seeping. Do you have a vaccum pump? If so, you could consider an oil separater tank. With just a little smoke though, sounds normal

Mine has never blown by enough to oil saturate the breather...
